Croydon Council's performance

What are Performance Indicators?

These can be either Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs), which are defined by the Government or local Performance Indicators which relate more specifically to what Croydon needs to measure  such as those which form part of the Croydon Counts Index.  Put simply, these are precise measures of performance which test a variety of things from basic processes (i.e. time taken to process a benefit application) to more high-level issues such as local people's overall satisfaction with the Council and the services it provides.

These PIs are important and are a significant part of the Council's CPA score.

The Council has changed the way it monitors BVPIs in 2006 and now reports on all of those capable of in-year analysis mid year in the Six Monthly Performance Report and has replaced the quarterly reporting of BVPIs with the bi-monthly Croydon Counts Index -details of which can be found under the Performance Page of the Council.

The Council continues to report all its BVPIs in the annual Performance Plan along with targets for the next three years.
