Delivering through partnership

Our approach to partnership working has led to some impressive results and has won Croydon a number of beacon and national awards.

Thanks to successful partnership work, Croydon has:

  • opened Europe's first Family Justice Centre
  • established successful Partnership for Older People Project (POPP) which has supported over 5,000 older people through information and advice;
  • been recognised as the most enterprising borough in London
  • reduced crime significantly each year for the last 5 years.

These achievements wouldn't have been possible without:

  • a strong, embedded partnership ethos
  • mature and trusting relationships within the partnership that are achieved through well-defined structures and strong principles of equal representation
  • extensive engagement and involvement of local communities through our community network, thematic partnerships and their sub-groups
  • strong ambition and focus on delivering results based on local needs
  • being progressive and forward-thinking and willing to learn from experience.

Croydon's Beacon Open Day will provide you with an opportunity to learn how to develop good partnership structures and processes that ensure your partnership delivers. You will be able to access excellent practice across a range of areas including:

  • engaging the business sector
  • engaging the voluntary sector
  • the role of political leadership
