Croydon's beacon open day 2009

In March 2009 Croydon was awarded 'Beacon status' in the category 'Raising Economic Prosperity through Partnership.' A Beacon award identifies excellence and innovation in local government - thus recognising Croydon's ability to improve its local economy.  Croydon is one of only four authorities in the country to be awarded Beacon status in this theme.

Croydon wishes to share its practice with other agencies and will be doing this via a number of means - including the production of case studies, attendance at national events, and an open day.
