Welcome to our Beacon pages.

The Beacon scheme, managed by the Improvement and Development Agency on behalf of the Department for Communities and Local Government, identifies excellence and innovation in local government. 

Croydon Council has been awarded Beacon status on seven occasions.  The council has most recently achieved success with separate awards in each of the last four years of the scheme, under the following themes:

• Local Strategic Partnerships and Local Area Agreements (Round 9)
• Increasing Voluntary and Community Sector Service Delivery (Round 8)
• Delivering Cleaner Air (Round 8)
• Improving Housing Services by Involving Tenants (Round 7)
• Getting Closer to Communities (Round 6)
