Croydon's successful bid for Beacon Status (Increasing Voluntary and Community Sector Service Delivery) was awarded in recognition of the open and trusting relationship it has with its voluntary and community sector (VCS).
The Beacon Open Day on Wednesday 7th Nov 2007 was a joint celebration of Beacon achievements and the centenary of Croydon's association for voluntary and community action, Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA).
Workshops provided the opportunity to share in the experiences and excellent practices across a range of areas, including involvement of the community in decision making and capacity development of the voluntary and community sector.
