Policy and procedures
The safeguarding adults policy and procedures have been revised and can be downloaded from this page. For convenience, and so that these can be used as working documents, we have split the document into two parts.

In addition, the lead practitioner group has produced a template for recording vulnerable adult safeguarding plans. This is an important document and central to ensuring that we have an explicit record of what actions we need to take to effect positive change in the lives of vulnerable adults. The agreed template builds upon the existing strengths of present practice while bringing further consistency and clarity.

- Local authorities and Health have a discretionary power to provide an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to be 'the voice' of a vulnerable adult who is either the victim or perpetrator of abuse.
