Croydon was one of 13 'Total Place' areas in the country that explored how to improve outcomes while reducing unnecessary spending. We focused on outcomes for children from conception to seven years old - as well as their families.
We chose to concentrate on the youngest because we know that the best possible start in life is crucial. We found that working in partnership with families to build on their resourcefulness and nurture their strengths could lead to significant savings over time.
Total Place provided us the opportunity to test new approaches, learn new skills and build new relationships that we can apply across many areas of local delivery.
We are committed to taking forward our learning and our ideas around how to radically improve the outcomes for our youngest citizens. We welcome your feedback and thoughts on our story.
