Croydon Museum Service Collecting Policy
Croydon Museum Service Collecting Policy provides a framework for the museum to add to the museum collections to try and represent every aspect of Croydon people’s lives from 1840 to the present date.
The Museum service specialises in collecting people’s memories - oral history. Wherever possible objects are borrowed from local people to link with their memories; this provides some flexibility to change and develop the displays. A priority of the service is to collect objects from under-represented groups or life events.
Objects for interactive sessions are also collected which enables people to touch objects to learn more about them.
