Leisure Centre Strategy
These are to provide better and fairer access to services, improve health and social care, reducing crime and disorder, achieve better outcomes for children and young people, regenerate the borough and improve the environment.
To set out its aspirations and inform future investment plans, the Council issued a new leisure centres strategy in March 2007 and the document linked from this page is a summary of that strategy.
The Council commissioned a leisure demand study as a basis for its strategy and this assessed demand for facilities in the borough. It included a detailed analysis of the local communities and their anticipated support for proposed leisure centres. It also identified the investment required to maintain existing facilities.
