If you are aged between 11 and 18, Croydon's Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs), Chloe Cunningham and Lokkei Wong, are asking you to attend the UK Youth Parliament action team, which meets every Monday from 4.30 to 6.30pm in the Youth Office at Suffolk House, College Road, Croydon.

The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) is a national charity that aims to give young people a voice on a local and national level. Back in February Chloe and Lokkei were elected as Members of the Youth Parliament to represent young people in Croydon, and Richard Serunjogi and Melvin Kurankye were elected as deputies.

They aim to raise awareness of UKYP and what it can do for young people in Croydon, find out how young people feel about local services available to them and represent these views to the borough's decision-makers.

In order to achieve this, the MYPs and deputies have brought together an action team and are currently visiting youth projects around the borough to talk to other young people.

Croydon Council's cabinet member for children's services and adult learning, Councillor Maria Gatland, said: "Some young people may feel that politics have no interest to them or impact on their life but Croydon's youth parliament proves that to be a myth. If you are aged 11 to 18 why not take this opportunity to join the action team and get involved?"
