They were presented with their certificates by Rosemary Sloman, head of Croydon Adult Learning and Skills, on Thursday 4 June, at the CALAT centre, South Norwood.
Croydon Adult Learning and Training (CALAT) provides training to employed adults working in the health and social care field, enabling them to gain NVQs at levels 2 and 3.
Councillor Tim Pollard, cabinet member for children, young people and learners, said: "I am delighted that so many adults are taking the opportunity to gain qualifications which can help improve the quality of care given to service users, and which offer the possibility of promotion for learners."
Entry level 3 is aimed at learners who are keen to enter employment in the health and social care field, and the majority of learners who were unemployed at the start of the course went on to gain employment and literacy certificates.
CALAT delivers high-quality training, enabling learners to develop a range of skills in addition to those directly related to care such as giving presentations, improved literacy and communication skills, improved confidence, awareness of own skills and experience.
Inspirational/aspirational teaching enables learners from diverse backgrounds to succeed and aim higher. Past learners have gone on to achieve degrees in nursing and social work.
This training may be free under the Train to Gain initiative. For further information please call 0870 556 1630, or visit www.calat.ac.uk.
