Running from Monday to Friday of next week (2 to 6 June), the theme of this year's event is the encouragement of people to recycle "just one more thing".
To demonstrate how easy it is to take part in the national imperative to recycle as much of our household waste as possible, the council's community recycling officers will be available to talk to, and to answer questions, at a number of venues across the borough.
And, to reinforce the message, they will be handing out free reusable cotton bags and waste-minimisation packs, including a "no junk mail" sticker, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Councillor Phil Thomas, cabinet member for environment and highways, said: "It's really important that recycling becomes a part of everyday life for everybody.
"That's why we're getting right behind Recycle Week and continuing to encourage the use of the council's twin household recycling boxes.
"People need to be aware that just one more thing they can recycle in their blue recycling box is textiles. Within the next month or so, all households should have a blue recycling box and all they need do is place any clean clothes, linens and pairs of shoes in a plastic bag, with the rest of their paper and card, and it will be taken for recycling.
"Also, they can recycle glass jars and bottles in their green box, and they can even recycle old hand tools - along with a large range of other objects and materials - at any of Croydon's three reuse and recycling centres, at Purley Oaks, Factory Lane and Fishers Farm."
The council's community recycling officers can be met between 11am and 2pm at:
2 June - Tesco, Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath
3 June - Co-op, Central Parade, New Addington
4 June - council stall, Surrey Street Market, central Croydon
The Surrey Street stall will also be manned by an expert offering free advice on home composting.
