They will be presented with their certificates by Rosemary Sloman, Head of Croydon Adult Learning and Skills, at 12 noon on Thursday 27 November at the Croydon Adult Learning and Training (CALAT) South Norwood Centre, Sandown Road, South Norwood, SE25 4XE.
CALAT provides training to employed adults working in the Health and Social Care field, enabling them to gain NVQs at Levels 2 and 3.
Croydon's cabinet member for children's services and adult learning, Councillor Maria Gatland said: "Gaining these qualifications improves the quality of care given to service users, and also offers the possibility for promotion for learners."
Entry Level 3 is for learners who are keen to enter employment in the Health and Social Care field, and 60% of the learners who were unemployed at the start of the course went on to gain employment and literacy certificates.
CALAT delivers high-quality training, enabling learners to develop a range of skills in addition to those directly related to care such as giving presentations, improved literacy and communication skills, improved confidence, awareness of own skills and experience.
Inspirational/aspirational teaching enables learners from diverse backgrounds to succeed and aim higher. Past learners have gone on to degrees in nursing and social work.
This training may be free under the Train to Gain initiative. For further information call 0870 556 1630, or see www.calat.ac.uk.
