The consumer advice outreach service, based in Parchmore Road, will help local residents deal with their consumer complaints and is ideal for people who require face-to-face assistance but find it difficult to travel to the town centre.
The service is available monthly, from 11 June 2008, and consumers will be seen on an appointment basis. They can book an appointment by visiting the centre or by phoning 020 8653 7353\8998.
Trading Standards also runs outreach consumer advice centres at Age Concern in Croydon, Purley Baptist Church and the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Councillor Steve O'Connell, cabinet member for safety and cohesion, said: "This is good news for residents of Thornton Heath. Knowing your consumer rights is important and knowing how to resolve a complaint and how to deal effectively with traders means consumers are less likely to be caught out in the future by unscrupulous traders."
