The service has also retained the maximum of three stars for the fifth year in a row.
Adult services are given an annual star rating ranging from zero to three stars, depending on their quality of caring and support and their capacity to make improvements.
The star rating system is valued as it helps boroughs to improve the quality of services they provide to users and carers.
Croydon's key strengths included:
- clear direction and leadership
- achieving targets
- good health promotion initiatives
- a pro-active approach to improving care and services
- strong partnership working
- a wide range of methods for engaging with service users and carers
- supporting people to find and stay in work.
Croydon's cabinet member for health and adult social care, Councillor Margaret Mead, said: "The service is very proud of this significant achievement, which is once again a huge achievement for Croydon and shows our ongoing commitment to provide first-class services to the people of this borough.
"Our adult social services team and our partners in the health sectors - independent and voluntary - have worked very hard to achieve this standard of care. And we are always keen to keep these standards high by constantly striving for further improvements."
