Corporate consultations

Involving local residents and stakeholders is a major part of Croydon's policy-making processes. Through consultation and involvement activities we aim to create a climate where we and can exchange views, ideas and information with our communities that will result in programmes to reflect local concerns and needs. Consultation is a major part of the Government's modernising agenda and forms part of the new Comprehensive Performance Assessment.

In October 2005 we decided to adopt a commitment to community involvement along with other local partners. The Community Involvement Commitments define the minimum standards for involving local communities in decision making. This includes being clear and reasonable in our methods, working in partnership with others, supporting people to be involved, making sure we are inclusive and making sure feedback is given.

We have agreed to encourage best practice in all our consultation and community involvement activities. If you feel that we have not lived up to these Commitments, please contact us, using the details below.

You can get involved through Neighbourhood Partnerships, the Citizen's Panel and the Link meetings.
