Financial strategy 2007-11

This strategic plan sets out the framework for the use of the Council's resources over the medium term (2007 to 2011) to deliver the Council's ambitions and priorities. It provides the strategic principles under which the budget for the Council will be set over this period of time.

The Council's Financial Strategy Objectives are:

1. To maintain an affordable Council Tax;
2. To ensure that the efficiency culture is embedded within the Council to systematically challenge and secure value for money.
3. To ensure that the Council's resources are expended on meeting the Council's vision for Croydon and achieving the key corporate priorities;
4. To ensure that the Council's infrastructure is fit for purpose and that new capital needs are identified and met; and
5. To ensure that the Council's core ongoing financial position remains stable and continues to support the Council's key objectives.
