Marriage - Croydon Register Office

If you choose to get married or register a civil partnership in the Croydon Register Office we aim to make your wedding day very special, leaving you to enjoy the occasion with your families, friends and each other.

You may wish to have a simple affair with just two witnesses or a more traditional ceremony with best man, bridesmaids, guests, music, readings, video and photographs. No matter what your preference, we will be happy to discuss the arrangements with you. A brochure is given upon booking a ceremony.
 
The Register Office is located in the centre of Croydon with easy access by public transport and a range of parking facilities nearby. There are pleasant gardens opposite for photographs.

The Ceremonies Suite is on the ground floor of the Register Office with easy access for disabled and elderly visitors. There is an elegant ceremonies room, with seating for up to 60 guests and room for a further 25 standing, and an attractive waiting room. The rooms have floral decorations which are changed according to the season: you can provide additional floral arrangements for the day, if you wish.

There are toilet, disabled toilet and baby-changing facilities within the Register Office. If you would like to view the Ceremonies Suite please contact us, we will be more than happy to show you around.

The ceremony

We can also offer music and readings of poetry or prose - you may like to choose your own. Music or readings must not contain any religious elements.

Fees

  • The fee for the ceremony is £40
  • The fee for the certificate is £3.50.

Payment

Payment can be made by cash or cheques. Cheques should be made payable to "Croydon Council".  Cheque-guarantee card details, e.g. card number and expiry date, are also required. The Council is currently unable to accept payment by Debit or Credit Cards.
