Improving access for disabled people
Croydon Council believes that it is the way society is organised that creates barriers for people with disabilities. Improving awareness and adopting the principles of inclusive design will make it easier for people with disabilities to access services on the same terms as everyone else.
As a result of funding by the Council and Marks & Spencer, Croydon became the first town to be listed on the DisabledGo website. This valuable resource provides information on the accessibility of approximately 1,000 venues in the Croydon area. We have also produced the policy on improving access to services, called 'Achieving access for all', and set up a mobility forum for Croydon.
Please follow the link to the Equality and Human Rights Commission website. In addition you can download the council guide 'Achieving access for all'.
