Death certificate copies
The Register Office holds records relating to births, deaths and marriages that occurred in Croydon dating back to 1837.
You may apply for a copy of a death certificate by post or in person (there is no need to make an appointment).
To obtain a copy of a death certificate, you will need to provide the following information relating to the person concerned:
- full name of deceased
- date of death
- name and address of place of death
The fee is £7.00 for each certificate.
Payment of the fee
Cheques/postal orders should be made payable to 'Croydon Council'. A cheque guarantee card details, ie card number and expiry date, are also required.
If applying by post please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope and your phone number.
If applying from outside the British Isles you will need to send an International Money Order drawn on a UK bank in Pounds Sterling.
Note: we are not able to accept Canadian postal orders.
