- Safeguarding - the facts

You should never feel scared or ashamed to tell anyone if:
- you feel unsafe for any reason
- you are being treated badly in any way
- you are being bullied, or
- you are worried about a friend.
Talking to someone can help you think through and sort out the problems you might have.
Need to talk?
There are a number of people you can go to for help or advice. Try talking to a family member or an adult you know and trust, such as a teacher, social worker or youth worker. You can also contact organisations that specialise in helping children and young people such as Childline or the NSPCC. These have confidential helplines and websites with useful information.
Croydon supports Rightfully Yours, a children and young people's rights service run by the charity NCH. It offers advice and can put you in touch with an advocate - someone who can speak out for you and help you to speak out for yourself.
If you are worried specifically about bullying, Need2Know provides advice and support through its website.
