- Safeguarding - the facts

All local authorities are required to set up a local Safeguarding Children Board, the aim of which is to ensure local services work together to plan, safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
The CSCB, launched in October 2005, is a multi-agency forum that brings together senior representatives of the main agencies responsible for protecting children from suffering significant harm and for improving the well-being of all children and young people in Croydon.
The CSCB aims to safeguard children by promoting safe practice and early intervention. It works with children and young people and their parents or carers.
It seeks common ground between all concerned and makes its decisions based on shared information.
