Grants and funding - voluntary organisations
See below to find out about funding opportunities - from the Government and from the voluntary sector.
General government funding
The Government funding website is a one-stop portal that provides access to funding from five government departments to voluntary and community sector organisations.
London development agency
This organisation is responsible for economic development in the region. Funding includes sector-specific projects such as tourism or cultural industries, and geographically targeted funding like the single regeneration budget, and the Thames Gateway. The LDA Opportunities Fund is an annual programme offering funding to deliver projects around specific themes.
Government Office for London
The Government Office for London (GOL) distributes certain funding on behalf of the Government and is responsible for European Social Fund monies.
Association of London Government
The Association of London Government (ALG) is funded by the London boroughs and supports community and voluntary sector projects that apply to more than one London borough. The main funding programme is committed to March 2007 but some smaller programmes are still available.
Grantfinder and GrantNet
Grantfinder and Grantnet are subscription databases that search thousands of sources of funding.
Croydon Voluntary Action
The external funding team is not able to offer general funding advice or help with developing fund-raising strategies. We work in partnership with Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) to support local community groups and they are able to provide a much wider range of services.
CVA offers training courses, workshops and produces a monthly funding newsletter for voluntary and community groups in Croydon. They also administer a number of local grant schemes including Children's Fund, Community Empowerment Fund and Community Chest.
