- Sets key short term priorities and establishes a long term vision
- Oversees how the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund is spent
- Does not have the power to decide how public money is spent, but can strongly influence allocations by setting the strategy
- Ensures planning and delivery of limited number of strategic activities which contributes to the overall vision
- Reviews the Community Strategy and the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy
- Reviews partnerships and recommends improvements
