Community care, adults services
Funding levels
There is a budget of £50,000 to fund small bids. Larger bids are considered by service commissioning managers from their own service budgets. You should know the outcome of your small bid within a month of the relevant application deadline date. Larger applications will take longer to assess.
Please note that there are two different supplementary forms, depending on whether your request is for under or over £5,000.
Priorities
Target groups for this funding programme are vulnerable adults and older people. This includes people aged 18 years and above who:
- have a learning disability, mental health problem, physical disability, sensory impairment, substance misuse problem, or are affected by, or living with, HIV/AIDS
- are older people/elders
- are carers of people identified above.
We are interested in funding projects which will support individuals from our target groups to develop and maintain their independence in the community. This could be by:
- enabling better and fairer access to care services
- helping to minimise the effects of failing health and low income
- helping to reduce social exclusion
- improving social care services
- increasing involvement in the local community
- increasing participation in Adult Social Services department consultative processes
- increasing volunteer involvement to support carers
- training for carers of people with mental health needs.
All applications should be accompanied by statistics detailing the number of people catered for, with a breakdown by age, gender, disability and ethnic group. These statistics should relate to the project for which funds are being sought.
