Advice to consumers
The Consumer Advice Service, in partnership with Consumer Direct offers help and advice on:
- your rights as a consumer
- problems or disagreements with a trader
- issues such as warranties, buying credit, internet shopping, refunds and replacements
- how to avoid trading scams
- how to make a claim
- problems with home improvement contractors
- when holidays go wrong
- problems with doorstep sellers.
Consumer Direct offers a telephone service, Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, on the number listed below. You can also register your complaint at Consumer Direct online.
Croydon Trading Standards offers a face-to-face advisory service. This service is available on an appointment-only basis. To book an appointment use the contact details below or visit the One Stop facility in Taberner House.
