Community legal service

The plan for information and advice services in Croydon was approved by both the council's cabinet and the Regional Legal Services Commission in July 2003. This plan will help the partnership and local advice providers to better co-ordinate the delivery of key advice services, and encourage local agencies to explore how they can improve their services.

There are two versions of the strategic plan, a shorter summary document and the full version.

Now the strategic plan has been completed, the partnership is working on how to implement the recommendations. All the agencies involved in the partnership can use the strategic plan to plan their businesses more effectively and attract funding. The partnership will promote the findings of the strategic plan and work to achieve wider awareness of the Community Legal Service.

The partnership will also develop new working groups to look at key aspects of the strategic plan. The first of these working groups will be looking at referral networks and developing a directory of Croydon advice providers. Following the referrals working group, the partnership will look to develop its understanding of local advice needs for particular client groups including older people, younger people, disabled people, and asylum seekers and refugees. If you would like to be involved in any of these working groups please contact us.
