Major Emergency Response Plan. This is undertaken through regular internal liaison meetings, and meetings with the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services, Military, Health and Environment Agencies, Utilities, Transport Organisations and the Voluntary Sector, to ensure co-ordination and understanding between all bodies involved.
A recently completed Caring Response Plan uses Social Service, voluntary agencies and representatives from the Faith Communities, to provide social support and befriending services to individuals after a major incident or disaster.
The Council revises on a regular basis, plans to deal with environmental issues such as Rabies, Legionnaires Disease and food poisoning. Constant liaison plays a part in planning revision to ensure contact points and amendments are circulated to all concerned.
Training and exercise of personnel and equipment is also a regular component of the planning arrangements. These involve all local bodies likely to respond in an incident and provide the opportunity to work together.
