How do I know what valuation band my property is in?

Your council tax bill shows the vaulation band for your property. You can also find out about the valuation band for your property by going to the Valuation Office's website. See the 'Council Tax Valuations' associated link at right.

How much is my council tax per month?

Council tax is usually payable over a maximum of 10 months, due on the 5th of each month. If you choose to pay by direct debit, you can pay over 12 months and have a choice of four dates. The amounts due each month are shown on your council tax bill.

If we are unable to send you a bill at the start of the year, you will still have to pay the same amount but will have less time in which to pay it. This will mean that you will have to pay more each month.

The amount you pay per month will be reduced if you receive a discount, exemption or rebate.
