The amount of council tax you pay is based on the valuation band of your property. Your bill includes a charge for the service provided by Croydon Council and a separate charge for the GLA (Greater London Authority).
You can find out the council tax band of any property on the Valuation Office Agency website. From here you will be able to find out how your banding is worked out and what to do if you wish to appeal your banding. The Valuation Office can also be contacted by telephone on 03000 501501.
Council tax 2013/14
There has been a 1.85% increase in council tax this year. This, coupled with a 1.2% reduction in the amount the GLA charge, gives an overall rise of 1.2%.
